The Center for Choreography Bleiburg\/Pliberk (CCB) is delighted to present its annual preview for 2024, which promises a wide range of projects and cultural events. From a choreographic theater production on Christine Lavant to a spectacular \"Long Night of Dance\", an interdisciplinary research program and a school workshop, the year 2024 offers a colourful dance program in Carinthia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Center for Choreography Bleiburg\/Pliberk kicks off the year in March with a new in-house production, selected as the winning project of the K\u00e4rntner Kultur Stiftung<\/strong> competition. Following the successful performances of \"Auf uns kommt es an \u2013 Ta roka bo kovala svet\" (2009) and \"JEMAND. Eine Hommage an Johann Kresnik | NEKDO. Poklon Johannu Kresniku\" (2021), this project delves into the impressive work of poet Christine Lavant. Under the direction of Zdravko Haderlap<\/strong>, the stage at Kulturni Dom Pliberk\/Bleiburg<\/strong> becomes the setting for an international ensemble of artists.<\/p>

The stage of the Kulturni Dom Pliberk\/Bleiburg will be the setting for the award-winning Anne Bennent<\/strong> and the T\u00e4nzer:innen Nur Gim\u00e9nez Villaroya (ESP), Tura G\u00f3mez Coll (ESP), Filip L\u00f6bl (CZ), Martina R\u00f6sler (AUT), Kacper Szklarski (POL), Lia Uj\u010di\u010d (SLO) und Thales Weilinger (AUT).<\/strong> The music was written by the Carinthian musician Ton\u010d Feinig<\/strong>while the dramaturgy is being handled by Jana Pavli\u010d<\/strong> from Slovenia. The production is under the academic supervision of Klaus Amann<\/strong>, author of the book \"Ich bin ma\u00dflos in allem\" about Christine Lavant, which was published by Wallstein Verlag in 2023. The set is designed by the Carinthian Slovenian Majda Krivograd<\/strong>, while the costumes are created by Katarina Zalar<\/strong> from Slovenia. Haderlap received choreographic support from Christina Comtesse <\/strong>and Martina Seidl<\/strong>.<\/p>

The trademark of the CCB's annual program is undoubtedly the \"Long Night of Dance\", which will take place on June 8th 2024 in Bleiburg. <\/strong>The town will be transformed into a lively stage when artists from over 10 nations present contemporary dance performances. This festival, which is characterized by changing themes and the use of different locations, offers a unique experience for artists and audiences alike.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This year, for the first time, the CCB is opening the doors of the Werkhof <\/strong>Bistrica to two interdisciplinary groups of artists who will devote themselves intensively to the theme of \"ZEITENWENDE\" for several days from 26.4. bis 5.5.<\/strong> The CCB creates a protected space for creative exploration and collaboration, which will be used by the artists Giusy Cirillo & Samanta Malavasi (IT) as well as Karolina Wyrwal (POL), Marcin Motyl (POL) and Paul Tinsley (GB). The new format emphasizes the importance of open-ended artistic research and promotes long-term partnerships. The CCB plans to repeat this program every two years to support regional and international artistic research. The final presentation will take place on May 4th at Werkhof<\/strong> Bistrica<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In cooperation with Christina Comtesse<\/strong> and the Slovene Grammar School, the CCB is also organizing a school workshop lasting several days with high school students. The project not only strengthens cultural ties to the local community, but also promotes the integration of art and education.
