The selected program will be presented in 2026 in the Alpe-Adria region, in the cultural city of Villach, Carinthia.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" class=\"translation-block\">The call is aimed at companies, dancers, choreographers, performers, and artists who would like to present a short performance or other formats \u2014 partly in very unusual locations \u2014 within the framework of the Long Night of Dance. We explicitly invite cross-disciplinary, audience-interactive, and technically demanding dance performances. Furthermore, we are open to new and unconventional formats that are thematically connected to dance (e.g., video, photography, audio walks, workshop formats). <strong>The deadline is September 15, 2025.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Long Night of Dance annually transforms a city for one entire evening\/night with up to 20 performances at outdoor and indoor venues. With this, the Center for Choreography Bleiburg\/Pliberk aims, on the one hand, to bring contemporary dance and performance to different places in the Alpe-Adria region, and on the other hand, to lower barriers to dance and cultural events by activating the whole city as a stage. A strong focus is placed on presenting a wide spectrum of the international contemporary dance scene.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The thematic focuses of the Long Night of Dance 2026 are:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>New forms of dance<\/li><li>Age\/aging as expression<\/li><li>Innovation &amp; digitality<\/li><li>Dance in dialogue with live music<\/li><li>Emerging artists &amp; new generations<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions should address at least one of these thematic focuses. We also accept several proposals from one artist\/company\/collective.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4e1b0dc elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4e1b0dc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3bd029d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3bd029d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Arrival in Carinthia must take place no later than July 9, 2026, with departure on July 12, 2026. Availability for the entire event period is required.<\/p><p>Performances or other formats should not exceed 25 minutes. Exceptions for longer performances\/formats are possible.<\/p><p>Most performances will take place in unconventional locations (for example, in parks, on concrete, in winding streets, etc.). Adaptability and flexibility regarding performance location and technical requirements are essential. Site-specific performances and concepts are explicitly encouraged.<\/p><p>Set-up and technical rehearsals must be adapted to the local conditions and schedule. Performances that take place outdoors and at night must be highly flexible in terms of lighting.<\/p><p>Due to the concept and size of certain venues, some performances may be shown twice in one evening. The patron of its founding was Johann Kresnik (1939\u20132019), dancer, choreographer, and director born in Bleiburg\/Pliberk, and one of the pioneers of choreographic theater.
