In 2025, the CCB is organising the ‘Long Nights of Dance’ for the first time - 2 Long Nights of Dance in 2 cities on one weekend. The CCB would like to consolidate the LNT in its founding city of Bleiburg in order to intensify cooperation with the local audience and at the same time plans to perform again in changing cities in Carinthia and thus establish the festival nationwide. To date, the LNT has already been held 17 times in Bleiburg, Gmünd, Slovenj Gradec, Feldkirchen, Villach, St. Kanzian and Millstatt.
This festival is characterised by its changing themes and alternating performances in different historical towns and locations in Carinthia. Both artists and audiences are challenged in an unusual way - if only by the compact staging with up to 20 performances on a single evening and the unusual performance venues. This creates a unique experience for the artists, who are given the opportunity to produce site-specific creative work and enter into an intensive dialogue with the local population.

Eva Georgitsopoulou (GR) - A SIGNAL THAT TRAVELS DOWN THROUGH YOUR HEART episode #1

C K-H Mierke
DESCRIPTION:
A signal traveling through your heart is a kinetic homage to romantic love, where stereotypical narratives about falling in love are not enough. From the shocking philosophical statement of Sophocles' Antigone about the invincibility of love to the heartbreaking vocal interpretation of Whitney Houston in “I Will Always Love You”, we understand that love is triggered by encounter, unfolds according to the perception of the lovers and remains a thing between two. But what happens when the sensual environment - a central point of reference - is deconstructed and love is described not by two, but simultaneously by three female bodies in the present day? Through the kinetic vocabulary and the analytical exploration of the modern reflection of romance, the piece reveals a hidden dimension of love, beyond the roots of patriarchy, to rethink and redefine the concept of love.

CieLAROQUE / helene weinzierl (AUT) - RHYTHMUS & RAUSCH

C Bernhard Müller
DESCRIPTION:
In Rhythm and Intoxication, we examine the question of the extent to which interpersonal closeness or the reduction of physical distance creates intimacy in a performative setting or whether this increases the distance between performers and audience? Does the anonymity of the urban context even allow for personal closeness and networking? The performers create an interactive puzzle landscape that develops over the course of the performance into a structured chaos, an abstract, energetic maelstrom, a never-ending loop of uninterrupted movement, full of physical intensity. As the performance progresses, the public space becomes an essential part of the piece and another performer.
- “A refreshingly unconventional invitation to more openness.” Upper Austrian News
BIO:
The Austrian choreographer Helene Weinzierl founded CieLAROQUE in 1995 after more than ten years as a dancer. In recent years, the focus has been on movement research and interaction with the audience. Many of the productions focus on socio-political themes. Michael Sellner (AUT) - Strangers in the night

C Zoe Kugler
DESCRIPTION:
Inspired by family, Strangers in the Night is a solo performance and a portrayal of an alcoholic person in a chaotic phase of their habitual escapism. The inability to cope with everyday life and finding solace in alcohol consumption, which ultimately only creates an unpleasant time. Presented in a very comedic way and welcoming laughter from the audience, the play nevertheless shows the loneliness, awkwardness and indifferent attitude of a “drunk person” trying to have “a good time”.
In any case, I wish you a good time!
BIO:
Before completing his training in contemporary dance and ballet at SEAD, Michael Sellner was intensively involved in breaking and street styles. His artistic research interest lies in the combination of his anti-gravitational physicality with a theatricality that manifests itself in clowning. His creative principles focus on spontaneous and honest movement as well as sophisticated play with the audience to generate creative surprises within the language of movement.

VIDEO: Nii/Colaboratório (BRA) - Estio_rite in lapse

C Melissa Figueiredo
DESCRIPTION:
What was the future? What they expected did not happen.
The meanings of Estio (2018) are revisited and repositioned in Estio_rito em lapso (2021) - a film that was created in the midst of the pandemic under predominantly remote conditions (rehearsals, filming, post-production). In the conviction that works of art update themselves with time and at the same time update time, the question arises as to what answers Estio can give to our present.
Between the future, isolation, precarity, exhaustion, survival and conflict, this creation revolves around the idea of a choreographic dystopia. In doing so, Nii/Colaboratório explores what dances are created when the virtual and the real become equivalent - with a view to the pandemic of 2020. How can we continue to exist in the midst of devastation and oblivion? Can futures still be invented?
BIO:
Nii/Colaboratório is a Brazilian platform for dance artists and producers based in Salvador de Bahia. Since 2015, they have been creating choreographic works and films that always revolve around the body in motion. They develop scenarios in collaboration with different artistic disciplines and organize local and international projects in the fields of creation, free artistic research and education.
